"Photographic Horizons"

Four Photographers from the Photography Circle (Athens)

In the frames of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Fotodos, in cooperation with the Photography Circle, is organizing an exhibition entitled Photographic Horizons.

Although it is a group exhibition, Photographic Horizons is in actual fact four solo exhibitions in one. Juxtaposing these individual shows is meant to convey the standpoint and the limits of the kind of photography cultivated at the Photography Circle and supported by the photographers who are its members. The title of the exhibition is a reference to the points on the artistic horizon where centrifugal and centripetal forces protect the individuality of each photographer, while at the same time emphasizing their artistic affinity. In other words, here are two bodies of work in black-and-white and two in colour, each of which deals with a different theme and area of aesthetics, but all together they bring out the common features of the Photography Circle’s artistic identity. The two ‘black-and-white’ photographers are Vassilis Ragouzaridis and Andreas Schoinas and the two who ‘use colour’ are Vassilis Gerontakos and Angelos Mihas.

Opening: Wednesday the 5th of October at 19:30
Duration: 5th - 21st of October
Venue: Pallouriotissa's Old Market | 10:00 - 13:00 & 17:00 - 20:00, closed on weekends
